2024 Update

• Established a committee for EDI and decolonization, creating terms of reference, an equity-focused glossary, and preliminary plans to implement recommendations of U of T’s Anti-Black Racism Task Force.
• Collaborated with UTM’s STEM scholars pilot to open space for incoming Black students in EDS291: Black Education: i.e., to connect students with university-level learning before the start of their degrees.

• Continuing to coordinate a departmental committee on equity, diversity, and inclusion, which will convene in 2022-23 to implement and report on campus-wide commitments from UTM’s ABR Operational Group.
